HERRONISSOS
The name of this small, rather isolated, community on the north side of Siphnos means peninsula, and derives etymologically from hersos, meaning untitled land, and nessos, meaning island.
Formerly accessibly only by boat and only during the summer season, today Herronessos can be reached by a car through an asphalt road. A traditionally fishing village, where the craft of pottery making also flourished a long time ago, Herronessos has a small sandy beach, clear water for swimming, a small fish taverna, a few rooms available for rent, and one remaining pottery workshop.
