PLATIS GIALOS
Platis Yialos is the most popular beach in the island and it is considered to be one of the longest beaches in Cyclades. It was once a center for potter workshops, but even today, the visitor may find products of the pottery of Sifnos and he may get acquainted with the manner of their production. In the north, on the top of the hill, overlooks the monastery of the Panagia of the Mountain (1813). The view from there is fascinating. In the NE, the White Tower, the remnants of an ancient tower is located. At the NE, at the entrance of the bay is located the uninhabited island of Kipriani or Kitriani, on which the only buildings is the church of Panagia the Kipriani. At the NW, an organized camping area is in operation.
